August 5, 2025, Berlin:
Today, a delegation from the ASTM International Presidium visited BAM to discuss current standardization issues. The focus was on standardization activities in the field of additive manufacturing technologies and the research and development activities of the AM@BAM competence center and the QI-Digital project. This is an important step for international cooperation and the promotion of global standards in forward-looking technologies.

June 30, 2025, Berlin:
At the 11th advisory board meeting, the course was set for the future: the roadmap for our initiative, the Digital LabHub with the VUP, and the planning for the QI Digital Forum 2025. The focus groups provided important updates and held an intensive discussion on improving the digital quality infrastructure—in particular through binding funding conditions and legal requirements such as the digital product passport.

June 24, 2025, Berlin:
Today, politicians, business leaders, and academics met in the Bundestag under the motto “Modern State. Competitive Location. Efficiency through a Digital Quality Infrastructure.” There was agreement that the design of QI has a significant impact on bureaucratic costs, efficiency, and Germany's competitiveness. Dr. Markus Reichel, Member of the Bundestag, emphasized the importance of QI for the innovative strength of German companies. Clear voices were also heard in the discussion: Digitalization is the key to reducing bureaucracy and making processes more efficient—whether through digital product passports or SMART standards for networked devices.

June 17, 2025, Brussels:
At the DPP4EU conference, policymakers, industry representatives, and digital experts discussed the future of digital product passports (DPP) and traceability. Dr. Anna Maria Elert from the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing presented QI-Digital and showed how a digital quality infrastructure can harmonize with DPPs. Our goal: a digital, interoperable QI standard that increases efficiency and reduces bureaucracy—modular, machine-readable, and automated.

June 16, 2025, Bremen:
At #SysInt2025, representatives from universities and research institutions exchanged ideas on the implementation of Industry 4.0 through intelligent, system-integrated solutions. A key topic was the use of artificial intelligence, especially large language models, in industrial applications. Dr. Jens Prager, who is actively involved in the QI Digital use case “Reliable Hydrogen Technologies,” emphasized in his discussion the importance of traceable and validated AI, especially in safety-critical applications such as the monitoring of hydrogen pressure vessels.
